Measuring the height of a flagpole

How do I know how high my flagpole is?

The easiest way may be to measure the size of an old flagpole. If you can't find a company flag, the Finnish flag is usually also reserved for the pole. The height of the pole is usually six times the height of the flag for horizontal flags.

To measure the height of the pole, you will need a plastic ruler about 30 cm long and a friend. You can also replace the friend with a piece of colored tape.
Have a friend stand next to the flagpole and walk about 15 meters from the pole. Place the ruler in front of you so that the 0 point is at the bottom of the pole. Memorize the readings of the friend's height and the total height of the pole. This will help you calculate the total height. For example, if the height of a 160 cm tall person is 32 mm on the ruler and the height of the bar is 180 mm, the bar is 9 meters high (180/32x1.6m).
